Baluch Prisoner Faces Imminent Execution

According to the Baluchi Activists Campaign, Saeed Baluchi a resident of the Lashar region is facing imminent execution and was given an opportunity bid farewell to his loved ones on Friday. Baluchi was originally arrested over two years ago on charges of carrying drugs. He was allegedly subject to forced confessions during detention. Furthermore, there are ambiguities regarding Mr. Baluchi’s trial and treatment in court.

Baluch or Baloch people are ethnic minorities primarily residing on the eastern regions of Iran. They are defined by their own language and traditions and predominantly Sunni Muslims.
